Here the track heads deeper into the bush to explore the eastern banks of the Lane Cove River. There is a diversity of mostly dry forest and sandstone rock formations, as well as an enjoyable side-trip to Blue Hole. Soon after Blue Hole, the walk leaves the river (and the GNW) to cross over De Burghs Bridge, past a few cafés and restaurants before arriving at Macquarie Park train station.
