It travels over dirt road past Hunter and Macleans Lookouts before descending into the Wallis Creek catchment. The track winds underneath many cliffs before crossing Wallis Creek, allowing you to experience the valley before arriving at Heaton Lookout. This is a very enjoyable walk with car access at either end.
