Cowan to Brooklyn
[aesop_content color=”#000000″ background=”#ffffff” columns=”1″ position=”none” imgrepeat=”no-repeat” floaterposition=”left” floaterdirection=”up”]The Cowan to Brooklyn Station walk is a popular section of the Great North Walk, with scenery ranging from foreshore to ridge-top lookouts. It follows the Great North Walk from Cowan train station down to the picturesque Jerusalem Bay, climbing a series of ridges before descending into Brooklyn. This walk is a great one-way trip from station to station with numerous water views, including a circumnavigation of Brooklyn Dam, and boasts a diversity of flora along the way. Plan to spend a bit of time in Brooklyn; it is a pleasant and simple community village in which to enjoy fish and chips on the water or to grab a cold drink. The flat, alternative route around McKell Park is well worth the extra distance, offering views across the Hawkesbury River and the opportunity for a swim.
